THE PASSING OF OUR FRIEND, ROGER A. LUCIER

On May 24, 2011, our dear friend Roger Alfred Lucier passed away.  For
many years he had been an integral part of the Wachusett Barnstormers,
and will be missed by many friends and club members.  Roger was born
in Leominster on September 19, 1932, son of Edmund and Alfama
(Bergeron) Lucier, and served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War,
stationed in Norfolk, VA, where he met his future wife.  Roger leaves
behind his wife of 58 years, Virginia (Wetherbee) Lucier, along with a large
and wonderful family.

Roger had a true passion for radio control airplanes, and also enjoyed
woodworking, building and flying kites, restoring antique cars, hunting,
fishing and camping.

On June 4, 2011, we held a casual celebration to commemorate his life at
our club field, which is at the High Ridge Wildlife Field in Gardner, MA.
Over 100 people came to pay homage to Roger, who lived a long and
wonderful life, and some spoke of some amazing and funny stories.
