Jeff Lynds and his wonderful bride-to-be Karen
From all of the people in the Wachusett Barnstormers that
work hard to put on the New England Jet Rally, we want to
say something very special to Jeff Lynds and his bride-to-
be, Karen.  They spend vast amounts of time each year,
which starts in January, to make this event possible.  Jeff is
a great man who enjoys building and flying RC jets.

The short version of the story on how our annual Jet Rally
came to be goes as follows.  Jeff was at a small flying event
our club was hosting 7 years ago.  At that event he said, “If
the Wachusett Barnstormers will host an event, I can get
some jet pilots to bring their aircraft to the Gardner
Municipal Airport next year.  Maybe together we could create
an annual Jet Rally.”  With that one idea in mind,  we have
together created the New England Jet Rally.
Jeff and Karen coordinate all of the pilots and a multitude of
other supporting requirements on their end.  They work from
January up to the event in August on their end of things.
They have a true passion for getting as many jet pilots, and
their wonderful supporting spouses, to this annual event.  It
is not easy to get RC jet pilots to come from all over the
United States and Canada all the way to Gardner, MA.  But,
they are so passionate and influential about this great
hobby that are able to get so many great and talented pilots.
There are also a multitude of other things they coordinate,
and personally pay for each year, to ensure this event goes
on smoothly continues to grow.

Every year, Jeff brings a trailer load of jets to fly.  However,
he is so busy during the event handling small and large
issues, helping with all types of technical and safety
problems, and graciously smiling while he answers
everyone's questions, that he barely gets to fly.  In fact, this
year he only flew twice.  You would think that after spending
seven and a half months of time to coordinate so much that
he would just fly all day long.  But, it just goes to show you
how he puts so many people ahead of himself.  When you
talk with Jeff or Karen the enthusiasm they have for this
event becomes quite apparent.

The Wachusett Barnstormers, and the 40 jet pilots that
came this year, want to express a deep sense of gratitude
to this great man and his amazing bride-to-be, Karen.
People like this truly make the hobby of remote control
aircraft, and specifically remote control jet aircraft,
accessible to so much of the public.
